organisations

Listed here is a brief outline of all our organisations. Some have links to their own pages in the site.

Sunday School

The Gap

A pro-active and inter-active group for children between 3 and 13. Teaching, singing, celebrating and raising awareness. It starts in Church with All-Age Worship then continues in groups their own age each led by a trained adult.

Putting belief into practical action through discussion and activity. Putting the theology of the church to work! And putting a whole lot to question. This is our community for young folk of Bible Class age (Sec 1-3).

Guiding Organisations

Boys Brigade

Beginning with Rainbows, through Brownies to Guides we have games, singing, crafts and trips for everyone. Giving a grounding in purpose and community it is open for girls from 5 to 15

All the activities take place in the context of faith and meaning and justice and life. Everything from Anchor Boys through the Junior Section into the Company Section we look at issues affecting the world and how we can respond to them.

The Guild

Men's Association

Listening and witnessing to the whole of life's experiences through the eyes of people from our own congregation, community and wider. The Guild are involved in major projects around Scotland as part of the Church and heavily within our congregation.

An evening of games, talks and visits for men of all ages. A good fellowship and friendship with a whole lot of enjoyment.

Badminton

Bowling

Good keep fit and good community. A great way to get to know people better. Also social events, and fund raising events.

Whitecrook Bowling Club opens it's doors to Abbotsford. A friendly, happy group of some good and some not so good bowlers.

Faith No More

Bible for Duffers

This is an occasional discussion group that isn't scared to question and think new things. A relaxed and honest group where you can vent all those beliefs and heresies about God, life and the universe. Faith is more than Sunday Morning.

Want to know what's going on in the Bible, the CV's of the people involved and what God's got to do with it? This is an open group that meets once at the beginning of each worship Unit (every six weeks) to look ahead by looking back!

Choir

Talk Back

Leading our congregation in worship each Sunday with the old and the new. The choir helps to introduce new songs from Common Ground and leading us in more imaginative and creative ways with music.

An opportunity to offer your views on our worship. It is a forum to give your ideas on how we can continually respond to peoples needs, with new ideas and more meaningful and relevant forms of responding to God.

Craft Daft

Anyone with a grain of imagination and daring enough to say ‘BOO!’ to a goose has something to give and we create new ways of decorating and designing the church that are appropriate to each theme and festival we adventure through on Sundays.
