Donnelly from Bo'ness United.

Whitburn 4 Ballingry 2
Ballingry opened the scoring with an early goal,
but Andrew Doig equalised shortly afterwards. Doig put Whitburn ahead midway
through the half, then Alex Lurinsky made it 3-1 just before half
time. Kenny Hannah scored the fourth goal shortly after half time after
Roberts was brought down in the box. Ballingry pulled one back near the end.

Blantyre Vics 1 Whitburn 7
Whitburn enjoyed an easy victory against hosts
Blantyre Vics in the 3rd place play of in Blantyre’s pre-season tournament.
Andy Roberts opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a glancing header
from a Scott Murphy corner kick. John Murphy scored the second with a shot
that found the top corner from the edge of the box in the 20th minute after
Mackay’s long range shot had come back off the post.
Three goals in the final five minutes of the
half made the half time score 4-1 to Whitburn, Dolan with a free kick and
Lurinsky were Whitburn’s scorers.
On a very warm day, it was good to see Whitburn
looking for more goals in the second half, with Andy Roberts and a David
Murphy double completing the scoring.
Saturday 26th July
Bellshill 1 Whitburn 1
Bellshill won on penalties. The Whitburn scorer
was Andrew Doig.
Whitburn now meet Blantyre Vics at 12.30 pm on
Sunday 27th.
The two winners, Campsie Black Watch and
Bellshill, play at 3.00 pm.
Tuesday 22nd July
Whitburn 2 Kilsyth 1
Whitburn get off to a winning start with both
goals coming from the new signings. All the goals came in the second half.
David Murphy opened the scoring, turning home a cut back from Strickland
from close range. Kilsyth equalised then Andrew Doig scored the winner with
a 30 yard strike that found the net off the underside of the bar.
Transfer news
The latest news on this front is that Kenny
Hannah has signed on for another season.
Joe Mbu has signed for Cowdenbeath. In
his 3 seasons with Whitburn, Joe was capped twice for Scotland Juniors, and
was Player of the Year in twice.
Darren Moonie has been transferred to Penicuik.
Club captain Iain
Ramage has been transferred to Musselburgh Athletic where he will take
up a player/coach role.
"Rambo" had
two spells with the club. He joined from
North Merchiston
juveniles in July 1995 before going senior with Berwick Rangers after 3
seasons. He signed again in July 2001.
He has been
Player of the Year 3 times, Player's player of the Year 4 times and even had a
season where he was joint top goalscorer.
Last season
he played 40 out of the possible 41 games and scored 5 goals. His totals for
the club are 372 games played and 111 goals scored.

defender David McGurk from West Calder, Christopher Dolan, a
left sided defender/midfielder from Fauldhouse, Andrew Doig, a
central midfielder/defender from Whitehill Welfare and David Murphy a
midfielder from Armadale.

Opening League Fixture
Whitburn will open their league campaign at home
against Glenrothes on Saturday 30th August. See below for other league
fixtures as well as the dates for friendlies and League Cup games.
Sponsors wanted
In order to increase revenue available for the
running of the Football Club, Whitburn Junior FC are looking for people who
would be willing to sponsor a player for the coming season.
The cost is £75 for the season, and the scheme
is open to individuals, groups or companies.
