About
Big Note Live
"acoustic
feel, electric vibe"
What is Big Note "Unplugged
and Acoustic"?
It all began as the BIG NOTE
Club at London's famous Hope and Anchor on Sunday 1st
March 1998. Since then Big Note has expanded to five
nights a week in different venues around London.
Each night features unplugged performances from original
songwriters ranging from solo artists to full electric
bands.
Whatever the line up,
the aim of the night is always to provide an exciting
show of eclectic song making talent. All this takes
place live in the intimate and vibrant Big Note atmosphere.

A bit about the
Hope and Anchor.
We at Big Note are privilege
to base our club at London's famous Hope and Anchor,
Islington. The Hope and Anchor is one of London's
only surviving venues with any true infamy and
history.
During the mid-seventies, as one of the main punk
rock venues, and beyond it has always staged gigs
by the new artists of the time including;- The
Police, Elvis Costello, The Stranglers, Madness,
U2, The Cure, Joy Division, Ash and loads more.
What is so special
for us, is that these artists all follow in the
tradition of great contemporary songwriting and
our shows here are based in the very room where
they all performed earlier on in their careers
(which is possibly the most exciting time to see
and discover any artists). We are in one of the
few surviving venues that "gave a chance
to", enabled and helped those acts to develop
- which is exactly what Big Note is about!
