Musical intelligence consists of  the capability to recognize and compose musical pitches, tones, and rhythms. (Auditory functions are required for a person to develop this intelligence in relation to pitch and tone, but it is not needed for the knowledge of rhythm.)

It shows in people who:

• find it easy to move or clap to a beat
• find it easy to remember the lyrics of a song
• enjoy remembering things in the form of a rhyme
• focus in on noise and sounds
• enjoy or have an interest in playing an instrument
• enjoy musicals rather than dramas
• enjoy many types of music
• easily pick up on patterns
