It is one of three Brownie Packs attached to All Saints Church in Bridle Road, Shirley, Croydon, Surrey.

We meet every Tuesday evening during term times at the Shirley Youth and Community Centre in Shrublands Avenue, Shirley, Croydon, Surrey.

Brownies are for girls between the ages of 7 and 10.

When a young girl starts at Brownies she will very quickly learn all about the Brownie Promise and the Brownie Guide Law.

A Brownie promises to do her best , to love her god, to serve the Queen and her country, to help other people and to keep the Brownie Guide Law.

The Brownie Guide Law is to think of others before herself and do a good turn every day.

BROWNIE ROLLOUT 2003

These are the some of the lovely new badges that we can work towards.  We have some great new books to work from as well, the Brownie Adventure and Adventure On, which will include Go for It's!!   There is also a great bag to put them in.

If you want to find out more about this, go to the Brownie web site at:

http://www.girlguiding.org.uk/members/brownies

You will be surprised out how much information there is about the new Brownie programme.

Our activities include singing, games, making things, working towards Brownie Badges, working on the Brownie Adventure and Adventure On.  We start with the Becoming a Brownie book, which is when you learn the Promise and the Law and  lots of interesting things about how Brownies started and what it is all about.  Once you have taken part in your Promise Celebration you can go on to work on the new Brownie Programme which is based on three areas, Ourselves, Our Community and the World.

We have regular trips out and attend Brownie Adventures each year as well as going away on Pack Holidays.

We make lots of other things as well, Christmas cards, stand up reindeer, candles, sweets, napking rings, the big Santa poster (you can see in this picture below, beside the tree), snowflakes and christmas garlands, crackers, bells and christmas holly wreaths. We also went on an activity trail and had a campfire, where Tigger made her promise as a young leader.

We all had to lend a helping hand as there was so much washing up, especially after our enormous Christmas lunch, but it was worth it as we all got our Pack Holiday badges and two of us got our Advanced Pack Holiday Badge.

LION KING

We have also had a great trip to see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre.

A great day was had by all of us, we had lunch at Pizza Hut in the Strand, and a look at the entertainments in Covent Garden before we saw the Lion King, which was absolutely fabulous.

This is picture of us at Charing Cross Station on the return trip.

We have visited the London Aquarium,

we had a great day out and saw many of the London sights.

2006 has seen us once again venture up to London. This time we took in the London Eye, the Aquarium (still a great favourite) and Madam Tussauds, where we met many famous people, see if you can guess who

they all are!
