| The Dudley Branch of the Pike
Anglers Club of Great Britain and Ireland was formed 21 years ago. This making 1999 the
21st anniversary year. The Dudley branch originally held it's monthly meeting at Wilson's hall, Cradley Labour club. In 1982 the branch changed it's venue and for the last 16 years has held it's monthly meeting at Netherton Conservative club, Halton Street, Netherton, Nr. Dudley, Worcestershire, England. The branch meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month ( excluding December ). The branch regional organiser and Midland liaison officer is John Tate. Waters Fished The members of the branch fish a variety of water, from big Midland reservoirs, Welsh and Scottish lakes and Lochs and the premiere Midland rivers, the river Severn, Wye, Warwickshire Avon and the many tributaries that serve these water courses. Club Members Members of the branch do not just fish for pike, but during the Spring, Summer and Autumn months search out other species. Many fine fish have come to the rods of the members, Barbel, Roach, Carp, Chub etc., and of course pike using many different styles and tactics, so conversation at meetings is always interesting and all new members are made welcome. Slide shows & Talks The branch has a number of talks and slide shows by known celebrity anglers and shows by the branches own home grown talent on many angling subjects and topics. Just some of the names which have kindly graced our meetings; Matt Hayes fishing all over the globe, Cuba, Florida keys, Tobago, Madeira and Australia, Mick Brown on predator fishing at home and in Sweden and Andy Orme on Barbel fishing in the u.k and big game fishing in Africa. All the Shows are well attended with lively discussion afterwards.
