Ride back in time

Over 40 heritage buses and coaches re-create the transport scene of years gone by in
Winchester and Mid-Hampshire,
and provide free bus services for the residents of Winchester,
as well as our many bus enthusiast visitors.

ALL RIDES ARE FREE!

For just one day, ride the free bus and coach services operating again over the routes of former local bus companies of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s:  King Alfred Motor Services, Hants & Dorset, Wilts & Dorset, Aldershot & District, and other independent operators.  Heritage buses and coaches from the various operators of the period will be in use.  Also there will be coach tours, City bus tours, Forces' Express to Middle Wallop, and some special services.

Services run all day from the Broadway and Bus Station in Winchester,
from 0900 to 1700.

Routes serve all parts of Winchester, and out to Alresford, Barton Stacey, Bishops Waltham,
Fair Oak, Cheriton, Eastleigh, Romsey, Southampton, Stockbridge, and Sutton Scotney.

Souvenir Programme and Vehicle Working Graph

The souvenir programme will help you plan your day out on the free bus and coach services.

It contains times of all the services, and information about the buses and coaches that are expected to be operating or on static display, and also includes details of the various feeder services operating to Winchester.  Why not also purchase the vehicle working graph?  This tells you which bus or coach is planned to operate each service (subject to availability on the day), so you can decide which buses you want to ride on.

The programme plus the vehicle working graph costs £9.00,
the programme by itself is £7.00.  They will be sent post-free within the UK.

No price increase from last year!

Please send your order early to avoid any delay in the Christmas post.  Cheques will only be cashed when the programmes are ready for despatch.

Static Display

The static display of visiting buses and coaches will be at St Catherine’s Park & Ride,
served by a frequent shuttle bus service.

Vehicles participating in the static display must be pre‑booked because of space restrictions and insurance requirements.

Travelling to Winchester

By feeder bus services –  see the souvenir programme for times.

By train –  SWT and Virgin serve Winchester station.  Buses to Broadway from the nearby
City Road stop.

By car –  Free parking at St Catherine’s Park & Ride or Chesil multi-storey.

By your own bus or coach –  Bring it to the Static Display:  see above.

Bazaar

Selling books, photos, models and transport memorabilia, the Transport Bazaar is held indoors in the Saxon Suite of the Guildhall and the
St. John’s Rooms, both right next to the bus terminal in the Broadway.  FoKAB’s own sales stall will be located in the Bus Station.
