The Venue

This seven acre garden was begun in 1957 by Eric Cameron and his wife Joy and is now home to an extensive and expanding plant collection incorporating many rare and beautiful shrubs and trees, including many magnolias, azaleas and rhododendrons. There are also many unusual shrubs and hardy and tender perennials.

The garden contains areas of both formal and informal plantings and a number of 'ruins', lovingly constructed by the owner himself as settings for his plant collection.

Under the guidance of its current curator, William Dyson, the garden continues to evolve and develop.

'Dysons Nurseries' attached to the garden and run by the garden's Curator offers a wide range of interesting perennials and is renowned for its award-winning Salvias.
