Campsites in the New Forest
The New Forest is a large area of woodland and heathland in southern Hampshire. Ponies and other animals roam free. There are many campsites in the area. If you are thinkng of staying for a weekend, or for a longer holiday, the area makes a superb scenic area to stay with the coast and conurbations of Bournemouth and Southampton within easy reach.

Forestry Commission Campsites
Some Forestry Commission Campsites are for "wild" camping, and have minimal facilities. For these you will need a Toilet Tent, etc. Pets are accepted on all Forestry Commission Campsites except where stated. All sites have gas cylinders available except where stated. ASHURST - Lyndhurst Road, Ashurst. Open to October. Laundry.
DENNY WOOD - Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst. - "wild camping".
HOLLANDS WOOD - Lyndhurst Road, Brockenhurst. - large site. Laundry. Visiting mobile shop.
HOLMSLEY - Forest Road, Thorney Hill, Bransgore, north of Christchurch. Play area. Shop. Laundry.
LONGBEECH - Fritham, nr. Lyndhurst.
MATLEY WOOD - Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst. Permits and gas supplies from Warden at Denny Wood. "wild camping".
OCKNELL - Fritham, nr. Lyndhurst - Permits from Warden at Longbeech.
ROUNDHILL - Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst.
SETTHORNS - Wooton, nr. New Milton. "wild camping". Open all year.

RED SHOOT - Linwood. About 3 miles NE of Ringwood. Small, well run site with good amenities at rear of Red Shoot Pub with outlook over open forest. Washing, showers, camp shop, disabled facilities, childrens playground. Good family site. Opens 1st March to end October. Pre-booking essential during peak periods. Contact Sonya Foulds on Tel.
