Board of string figures from Nauru and New Guinea
- Reference number: MSS 0003 Series D/12.
- Donated 1998 by Honor Maude, in the H.E. and H.C. Maude papers.
- Mounted on a board (against wall of Strongroom): 11 string figures, 10 photographs of New Guinea figures, 12 photographs of Naruran figures. The figures on the board are not individually identified, nor dated. The figures are made of natural string, not hair, and are presumed to be the work of Honor Maude. Mrs Maude authored or co-authored seven books and numerous articles on Oceanian string figures.
