Slaughter at the University

What a thrashing tonight at the countries top University. Top class Pakistani players Ali Malik and Munaj Hussain gave Steve Hollick and Ian Johnston a lesson in quality squash they won't forget for a long time. Both our players gave it their best but sadly that was no where near enough at this level. The story was much the same at the lower end of the team although I thought Tony played pretty well at 4 and looked likely to take at least a game but, in the end fell short. Myself and Aiden both came up against stronger players so all in all a right good thrashing.
Hopefully we will all come out of this season better players having been tested at a higher level but at the end of the day it does show up our shortcomings, mainly the lack of regular competitive opponents at our own club.

The University is a very strong club with players from the far east bolstering the club at all levels. A thoroughly enjoyable evening though against very pleasant and sporting opponents.
