CHEQUE OR CASH
We accept:
Sterling Cheques, British Postal Orders & International Money Orders

We take Cash Sales in $US + CAN, $AUS + $NZ,
and Euros, all by prior arrangement.
(The £2.50 currency conversion charge at our Post Office no longer applies)

Do feel free to use the Post Office website which shows
the rate at which they will buy your currency from us.
Go to their "Travel Services" in the menu, then on "Foreign Currency"
and follow the screen instructions.
That is where we will calculate the rate of conversion in order to
give you a quote for your order.
There is more information on currency conversions further down this page.

The rate the Post Office charge us, for us to sell your cash back to
the Post Office for sterling, is usually a little above the base rate
quoted in the press, round about 14c higher in $US, for instance.
Even so, cash is still much cheaper than the
cost of getting a sterling cheque if that is not a viable option.
Please e-mail us for a quote on exchange rates, and/or other currencies.
We do try our best to help . . .

We hate 'hidden charges' ourselves; basically, for overseas orders,
the price you will pay is the basic video/DVD price, plus NTSC conversion if
required (usually only for the US and Canada - sorry folks over there), plus the p&p.
It still sounds bad, doesn't it, but we try to keep it all to a minimum . .
we want to sell you these videos and DVD's, not put you off.

We take orders by e-mail, but because of continuing doubt and genuine unease
about giving card details over the Net, we have no plans for a VISA or PAYPAL facility as yet.
We may sell a few less videos, but at least we know that your money, and our reputation, is more secure.

If you do choose to send cash/notes, Postal Orders or International Money Transfers,
do hide them well within your order confirmation in the envelope, use registered post,
and please do not use loose coins - they're a dead giveaway.
See below for advice on other currencies.
Trust no-one - AT ALL!
We don't even ask or expect you to trust us in the first instance;
e-mail us if you want to know more about us.
We will be most happy to hear from you,

You will hopefully appreciate that your payment must follow an order
in the post within a few days or so. Our customers are welcome to email us for,
more information, either about our titles or about us and our service,
We will both do our best to help.
If you can only e-mail us in your own language, then feel free
to do so, and we will do our best to understand you.
We can get someone to help us with
French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian.
Don't worry about your English spelling, grammar, etc.

You can email us to order a title, to express a comment
on our service or simply for title information.
We rarely shut down before 10.30pm and
we look forward to hearing from you.

We regret that titles cannot be despatched until your payment has arrived,
and if a cheque, until it has cleared, usually after 3 working days.
E-mail ordering from overseas speeds things up by about 6 days.

POSTAGE RATES

For multiples of 3 or more videos/DVDs, to worldwide addresses,
do contact us for a postage price;
it can be less than "quantity x £3.50" and so perhaps
a little bit cheaper than you may think.
Much depends on how the running time of videos affect the parcel weight.
A one hour video is usually about 350g in its case,
though of course, that isn't an issue with DVD's.
note: Some Special Offers will have UK postage included in price,
eg. the £21.90 Naval Video Time Capsules on the wartime Royal Navy
includes the UK postage

DVD
more and more videos are becoming available in DVD.
And new DVD's are now coming out that are not and
never will be transferred to video.
To confuse matters, some DVDs will only play on
machines in the UK, whereas others are "region
free", and will play on TV's anywhere.
All DVD's should play in any computer, anywhere in the world.
Please be sure which format you require before
sending any payment .. in most cases, it's best to email us first.
Things are changing so fast, even we can't keep up
and have to check with the studios constantly as to
the state of play.

NTSC FORMAT:
this is still available for some VHS titles, though not all; please e-mail us for details.
Where we have to get conversions especially, the charge is an additional £6.

Please Note: that for Australia, New Zealand, and BFPO Germany,
UK PAL format is okay as it is and needs no conversion.

Many newer machines in the last couple of years or so can read multi-formats.
Still be careful if VHS/video format is required in USA or Canada, they are on NTSC.
But many of their new machines can play any format . . it's worth checking.

Many titles now show a catalogue number.
To save confusion on titles with similar names, please quote when ordering if one is shown.
If no catalogue number is shown, don't worry, just order by title alone.

Accepted payments:

THE REASON WHY WE CAN'T TAKE FOREIGN CURRENCY CHEQUES

SORRY; CHEQUES in £ STERLING only please;
BRITISH POSTAL ORDERS or
INTERNATIONAL MONEY TRANSFERS;
please make cheques payable to

We would like to take other currency cheques,
but our bank wants to charge us £10 a time!
So, unfortunately, we would have to return these to you.

We don't refuse cash sales, but we do hope that
our customers realise that cash in the post is not without risk.
Use banknotes only, try not to use coins, and use the
Royal Mail Currency Conversion website
to calculate the rate we sell your money for,
should you want to send us your own currency notes.
In some cases, it may well be cheaper for
you to buy sterling notes yourself.
Registered Post is safer, but in any case, be careful;
hide cash or Postal Orders well,
eg. hide within another page or internal wrapper.
Mark your envelope in the top left corner,
"LETTER OF COMPLAINT - FAO THE MANAGER!"
No-one ever sends cash in an angry complaint letter, do they?
And it lets us know that this envelope is special
when it arrives and needs special checking.
We'll e-mail you to let you know it's arrived safely.
Needless to say, our postman thinks we're mad.

Please note: INTERNATIONAL MONEY TRANSFERS
are usually available from your own local post office in most countries
for a small nominal charge, roughly equivalent to British Postal Orders,
and are ideal if you do not want to use cheques, etc.
They're certainly cheaper than cheques, and easier than cash.

your currency to ours, using the "Sell" rate -
In the menu, go to "Travel Services," then "Foreign Currency",
and follow the screen directions
You'll soon get the idea.

Use this guide below to help calculate the conversion from your currency
to Pounds Sterling if sending cash.
[there's no Post Office conversion fee anymore, they've dropped it.]
For example, on a £12.99 video to the US, in NTSC,
assuming an exchange rate of around $2.16 to the Pound,

OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS:
please note:

Customers may be liable for their own
Customs & Excise import tarriffs and duties.
It's not usually a problem on single videos . . it's the extra weight on
2 or 3 titles that usually tops the import weight limit for tarriff-free goods.
Please check with your own government's advice on this,
usually available on their websites.
If you need help, do ask us.
