The tenders for the building of the new St Luke's Church Centre
have now been received and final decisions are being made. There
is a feeling of frustration within both churches that the project has
not yet formally started, however people realise that it is not in our
best interests to rush things. God has a plan and in the fullness
of His time all will be revealed!
Your prayers in the coming months -
as the PCC (Parochial Church Council) deliberates on the tenders
received will
be greatly appreciated.
Members of both of our churches (along with
members of St Thomas') have also been very
active in the last month offering free "Jesus" videos to 300
local households. This work has been a "pilot project"
to gauge reaction of local families in the hope that we may touch some peoples lives
and at the same time let them know of the love that God has for them.
Members of the teams who have visited all the
households have been encouraged by the response, and thanks is due not
only to these teams but to all the "support staff" who have
helped to make this pilot a success.
We hope to continue this work in the future (we
have tackled 300 out of many thousands of homes in the Ashton-in-Makerfield
area) so we have a long way to go yet! We pray that God will
continue to bless us as we work for him.
