It's two years since Andrew last visited us, on that occasion he did a joint Christmas concert with friend and fellow musician Tony Stace.

Andrew plays the Atelier AT80SL organ and opened his concert with the lively Vienna Forever march.

If you are lucky enough to obtain a copy of The Rose (a ballad), by the Irish popband Westlife, you won't be disappointed, it's a beautiful piece of music and beautifully played by Andrew. Next George Formby made an appearance with his theatre style music i.e. When I'm Cleaning Windows - Leaning On A Lamppost & A Little Stick Of Blackpool Rock.

A red backdrop to Angel In Blue? Which like the colours of the rainbow eventually turned blue. A private joke between our artist and the Lighting Supremo!! It was a lovely rendition with trumpet, strings & bells.

Swirling 'snowflakes' set the scene for Dance On and Foottapper stringing the lovely Country & Western guitar on the organ. We then had a selection from Les Miserables which included Master Of The House and the well known I Dreamed A Dream.

Fly Me To The Moon - with nearly a full moon outside - was set to a Bossanova before changing to a swing rhythm, whilst Keith's 'spaceprobe' sent red signals all around the hall !!

A friend of Andrew's by the name of Eddie Swan composed the Sunshine Samba, very nice indeed. George Gershwin's music has more than stood the test of time, such a pleasure to listen to Lady Be Good - Someone To Watch Over Me - 'S Wonderful - Summertime and I've Got Rhythm to take us up to the break, when the customary culinary goodies were served alongside tea & coffee.

After the festive raffle it was time to launch into the second half. The stage had been decorated with a Christmas tree, a tipsy snowman who had been fed brandy by John and a fibre optic snowman who looked like he was practising on the nursery slope. 'Snowcover' and icicles finished off the wintry scene.

Having changed his jacket from a turquoise one to a sparkling dark green one, Andrew opened the second half with Telstar and Riders In The Sky. At the time of writing there are only 23days of shopping left, so - to help matters along Andrew created a Winter Wonderland and along came Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer and the BKC choir joined in with Let It Snow and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.

Another Eddie Swan composition followed: the Tyrolean Waltz. When A Child Is Born was a great hit for Johnny Mathis in the mid 1970's and has remained popular to this day, this Andrew followed with Mary's Boychild.

A cocktail of melodies followed like Happy Days Are Here Again - Moonriver - Is This What They Say About Dixie? - Mr. Sandman - Strolling - I Left My Heart In San Francisco - When I Grow Too Old Too Dream and finally Hey Look Me Over.

Andrew then announced in Tony Stace style that his next medley of Disney tunes would last for 6m and 35seconds! Zibbedi Doe Dah - A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes - A Spoonful Of Sugar Helps The Medicine Go Down and of course Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Time to calm things down a bit with The Christmas Song (to roast chestnuts on an open fire!) and to Have Yourself A Merry Christmas before taking in a Sleighride and to go and see Frosty The Snowman and to be told Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. All set to a magical backdrop by Keith.

No Christmas season is complete without Jingle Bells, is it? and Christmas or no Christmas, the BKC audience were in no mood to let Andrew go without the traditional encore, so off to London for Putting On The Ritz - Sweet Georgia Brown and I Wanna Be With You.

The evening had absolutely flown by with the audience having been entertained with some super music and plenty of Yorkshire wit. Many thanks Andrew - we look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future.

Why not come along to a Basildon Keyboard Club Concert, you will be made very welcome, have a great evenings entertainment, a complimentary cup of tea or coffee with biscuits and of course experience the delights of live music played on top of the range electronic organs & keyboards by the best players.
