A pergola incorporating raised beds planted with clematis Montana Pink Perfection, Wadas Primrose, Ville de Lyon, Twilight, and Lady Betty Balfour; climbing roses Zephirine Drouhin, fuchsias, geraniums and summer bedding plants; divides the drive and south-west garden from a courtyard in front of the house. Here raised beds, water features, and graveled islands with containers, pots and alpine sinks give all year interest. In the summer additional containers and hanging baskets produce a riot of colour and foliage. The walls of the buildings are covered with ivy and clematis, together with climbing patio roses growing in containers |
