Marky Ramone

and the SPEEDKINGS

June the 6th 2002 - Dee Dee passes away just days before he was meant to be recording a live album with Marky Ramone on drums

June the 9th 2002 - Marky Ramone and his latest band the Speedkings go into the studio to record a tribute

"I've Got Dee Dee On My Mind" is an upbeat celebration complete with samples of Dee Dee counting in "1 2 3 4" and backing vocals from Fifi of the Japanese band Fifi & The Mach III

On the flipside we have Marky sharing the vocals with Nick Speedking for "Chinese Rocks" a song co-written by Dee Dee with Markys old bandleader Richard Hell and originally made (in)famous by his drinking buddies the Heartbreakers

Its now been released as a cool 7" single on HDP Records from Sweden

Buy it today direct from the record company while you can

Theres only 1000 copies of it - 500 on black vinyl and 500 on hotly coloured red/brown sort of like the spinning disk above
