Marky and the Misfits
THE MISFITS – CAMDEN PALACE, LONDON MAY 21ST 2003
BY LYNNE CAMERON

I travelled to London on Wednesday 21st May to see the Misfits’ gig at the Camden Palace I went with my friend Sharon Hay.
We arrived at the venue at about 8.30- 8.45 pm, the first band, Tiny Elvis was playing. About 9.15 pm the second band The Lonely Kings played until about 9.45 when the Misfits came on. The atmosphere was electric.
They sang It’s Only Make Believe, Misfits, Ramones and Black Flag songs. They did a tribute to Joey - Jerry wished him a Happy Birthday and they sang Here today gone tomorrow, they also did a tribute to Dee Dee and they sang Strength to Endure I thought these tributes to Joey and Dee Dee were lovely.
They also did Blitzkrieg Bop, Sedated, Beat On The Brat. I am glad they sang them and I was singing my heart out. It was a great atmosphere and the crowd were going wild and some people were trying to get on stage but kept getting thrown off by the security.
Marky was playing his heart out, he was hitting his drums very hard, very powerful and very fast. It was a great night and they did a terrific job.
After the show ended Marky waved and threw his leather jacket into the crowd of course, as you can imagine, someone soon grabbed it. (Nice one Marky). Jerry did a somersault off the stage into the crowd which was really cool.
The Misfits put on a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
So this is my review of the gig and if you ever get the chance to see them go - they are superb.
