The Play St George And The Dragon page 1

THE CALLING ON SONG

Sung  by All the Players or each in turn depending on the abilities of the cast.

Chorus:-
Were two or three jolly boys all in one mind.
We've come a Pace egging and we hope you'll prove kind.
We hope you'll prove kind with your eggs and strong beer,
For we come no more nigh you until the next year.

The first to come in is our hero St George
With a sword at his side that is fresh from the forge.
He will meet with the Dragon and Fight with him here.
To prove that our hero has nothing to fear.
Chorus:-

The next to come in is the Dragon you see.
He's a nasty old toss pot in every degree.
He's full of pollution and nuclear power.
And he's getting more dangerous hour by hour.
Chorus:-

The next to come in is the bold Turkish knight.
He's come from a far distant country to fight.
He will meet with St George and fight with him hear.
To prove that our hero has nothing to fear.
Chorus:-

The next to come in is a Sheikh from the east.
He works for the Dragon and sell Oil to the west.
He buys arms from both sides nor will he recoil.
From covering our seas and our beaches with Oil
Chorus:-

And hear is a Doctor all dressed up in black.
He has many cures because he is no quack
He will fill you with lotions and potions and pills.
And charge an exorbitant fee for his skills
Chorus:-

And here is a fair maid both pretty and gay.
She is the Sheikh daughter or so people say.
She will meet with St George and give him her hand.
So three cheers for St George and jolly England.
