The Play St George And The Dragon page 2

St George:-
Oh no you won't, I know you of yore,
Getting fatter and nastier with every great war,
I've seen through your latest  disguises,
So I'll chop you  and mince you,  and serve you in pieces.

The Dragon:-
How canst thou do that, the ground you'll soon lie on,
My head's electricity and my body is iron,
I stamp on the backs of each man and lass,
I'll soon stamp on ypou with my legs of hard brass.

St George:-
Say what you will you'll never scare me,
I'll chop you to pieces and set the world free!

Dragon charges St George and they make three passes bullfighter style.
On the third pass St George places his cape in front of children in the audience and the dragon runs right up to or into the children.
The Dragon wrestles sword off St George.

St George:-
Right dragon you've asked for it now.

Produces water pistol with a flourish and drives off the Dragon.

Who is this man who speaks so bold. If his blood is hot I shall soon make it cold. My head is made of Brass my body is made of Iron and my legs are made of steel. Sellerfields the Name Nuclear pollution's the game.

St George:-
Here am I, St George, a worthy champion bold,
And with MY sword I've won three crowns of gold.
I've fought the fiery Dragon,
And brought him to the slaughter.
And with that I've won fair Sabra,
Sheikh Shakey Monies Daughter!

Sabra comes to St George who kisses her hand.

St George:-
Show me the man that bids me stand,
I'll cut him down with my courageous hand.

Enter Slasher ( St George is taken aback but tries to appear nonchalant)

Slasher:-
Here come I, the Turkish Knight,
Come from a Turkish land to fight.
I'll fight St George who is my foe,

And make him yield before I go.
He brags to such a high degree,
'Twere I that won the gold, not he.

Sabra:-
Step up, bold Slasher, come this way
St George is ready for the fray.

St George :-
St George is the name and slasher bashing is my game.

Slasher:-
Bashing indeed! There's no more to be said,
For in one instant I'll fetch off your head.

St George:-
You speak so bold you cannot know the man that you defy,
I'll cut you up into little bits and make your buttons fly.

Slasher:-
I do not shrink to hear your threat.
And satisfaction I shall get.

St George:-
Battle to battle let us sound,
And see which falls to bite the ground.

Slasher:-
Battle to battle then lets cry,
And see which one of us it is to die.

St George and Slasher  mount up or in hobby horses, and they charge each other with lances. The first two passes miss. On the third pass Slasher hits St George with the lance. St George falls over.

Slasher:-
Ha Ha so much for your mighty force.

St George:-
That's not fair. I fell off my horse.

Slasher dismounts and they both go for swords and shields.
Slasher makes fierce sweeps and St George backs away.
