Hazrat Abbas

The son of The Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali and brother to Imam Hussein.

He was the Standard Bearer of Imam Hussein's army.

He went to get water for the thristy children from the river Furat (Euphrates) but was killed before he could get back to the camps.

With the water-skin in one hand and the Standard in the other, he makes his way through Yazid's troops, each one trying to cause him harm to prevent him getting water to the camps.

He was fatally shot with an arrow in his eye and both his arms were severed.

Imam Hussein went to his brother's aid before he breathed his last.

We are from God and unto Him is our return.
