Fun at Rhyl Library, Museum and Arts Centre

The collection illustrates Rhyl as a maritime community and seaside resort. The library contains Local Studies and Archival material.

The museum is set in a re-creation of an Edwardian pier and includes a mural depicting the resort at that time.

The display includes four different technological developments of international significance featuring:esurgam’- the world’s oldest mechanically-powered submarine;

Arthur Cheetham, early film maker (Rhyl 1899)

Vivien Hewitt, the first person to fly the Irish Sea, from Rhyl in 1912

The first commercial hovercraft flight from Rhyl to Wallasey in1962
