21 point workstation assessments

As an employer you have duty of care to your staff and you are obliged to comply with health and safety legislation. Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (DSE Regulations) anyone working with display screen equipment needs a risk assessment. In 2002 the legislation was extended to include the use of laptops. We can provide your employees with guidance and information as well as training in how to set up their ideal workstation. Our advice represents best practise rather than just compliance with the law, and this is based on our long experience of treating people with the effects of spending time working at a PC with a less than ideal posture.

Driving position assessments

Anyone who drives is subject to postural stresses as well as whole body vibration stress, which is damaging to the intervertebral discs that provide essential cushioning of the spine. Driving is a sedentary task which also does not help with good spinal strength and support. We have a long experience of treating drivers of cars, taxis, petrol tankers, trains, earth-moving machines and even aircraft. We can provide guidance and information on ideal driving positions and can instruct people on how to set up their ideal driving position.

Ergonomic assessments

Making a working environment safe for an employee is about more than identifying major hazards that could cause injury, it is also about making it comfortable for them to use without risk of strain or prolonged discomfort. We enjoy working with organisations that care about their staff and we have shown that not only can we reduce sickness absence but that people become more productive when they feel more comfortable in their workplace.

We can conduct a detailed study of the task, the environment and the people involved to advise you on the best way of achieving your workplace objectives with the minimum of risk to the user.
