Wurlitzer 1800
(This one now SOLD!)

Produced in 1955 at the Wurlitzer factory in North Tonawanda N.Y. , this was the second model to use the 45 RPM vertical play carrousel mechanism. Wurlitzer described the mechanism design as the "simplest changer ever offered on a multi-selection phonograph" They also included an extra 2 record slots, giving the machine a 104 selections. The competition at the time were only offering 100 selections.
In terms of styling and visual appeal, this model is near the top of many collectors lists. Curved glass, plenty of chrome and clever use of lighting and colour make the machine stand out from the crowd!
Using the famous "Cobra" cartridge and with a 4 speaker sound system, the 1800 also claims to be "Hi-Fidelity". While it may not quite reach the standards required by today's audiophiles, it certainly has an impressive sound.
Still working on American coins, with a fiendishly complicated coin mechanism, this machine offers 5 plays for a "Quarter". I will also included a "cheat" credit on the coin return button for those a little short on US coinage. This feature can be turned off if desired.
Sorry- this one is SOLD. We will be doing another one at sometime, please ask if interested.
