Here we have a superb example of the AMI H. This is the top of the range 200 selection "Electric Select" version and it has been fully restored. All the glass is glass, even the top white piece which was often broken and replaced with plastic - not on this one it's original and glass.

  In terms of styling and visual appeal, this model is near the top of many collectors lists. Curved glass, plenty of chrome and clever use of lighting and colour make the machine stand out from the crowd! The record changer visibility is excellent, in fact almost "in your face" when you are standing at the keyboard.

The sound quality on these AMI's is (in my opinion anyway) second to non. The designers of this machine really put a lot of effort into making it sound good. The twin speakers are mounted in horns and the cabinet behind them is completely sealed. The cartridge used is a magnetic GE VRII, considered audiophile quality in it's day! The amplifier is a simple but effective design (valve of course) and the whole sound system is carefully matched and optimised.

Still working on American coins, a switchable free play facility is included.  A double wound isolating transformer and earthing scheme are fitted to provide maximum electrical safety.
