Old and new Sliema

Top photo : The original photograph is shown again here so that you can compare the 1930's view to that taken in 2002.

Lower photo : There was a sense of real satisfaction upon walking along Triq Sir Adrian Dingli and turning into Triq Karm Galea in Sliema and discovering The Ursuline Sister's Orphanage on the left, the scene looked even better than I had imagined from the old photo I was carrying. I spoke to a Nun who was cleaning the entrance steps, she told me that on December 20th 2002 the buildings would be 100 years old. Seen in the distance is St. Patrick's Salesian School for Boys, founded in 1903, which is also a home for boys between the ages of 9 and 16 in Triq San Gwann Bosco. Photograph by Alan Edwards.
