EAST SURREY and the 1987 HURRICANE
A FALLEN TREE WITH A HISTORY
This mighty tree is laying on its side after being toppled during the Hurricane of October 16th 1987. 48 years earlier in 1939 someone had carved the following inscription on the bark :-
CANADA. T.B. R.C.A.1939. V.
