During our Summer Holidays in Malta we have been very lucky to be able to witness several local Festa's. The streets are decorated with banners, bunting and statues, the Parish Church is a joy to see in all her finery, thousands of light bulbs adorn the outside and can be seen for miles around when lit up at night. The local Band Club's play and march through the area, stalls are set up in the streets selling Maltese Nougat, Date Cakes, and novelties for the children. Fireworks and Petards are set off during the week. The highlight is on the Sunday evening when the Statue is carried out of the Church and taken along all the streets of the Parish. The evening is rounded off with even more fireworks. Wandering along the streets , taking in all the atmosphere gives so many happy memories to reflect on when back at home in England.
