My Family History ?
My family history lays in the North of England with my Grandmothers relations (on my mothers side) coming from Stainforth, nr Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire and my Grandfathers relations (on my fathers side) coming from St. Helens, Lancashire.
My grandmother on my mother's side was Minnie Tomes who's parents were George Albert Tomes and Amanda Rhodes who lived their married lives in the Doncaster Area, mainly around the Stainforth and Hatfield Area. They had thirteen children, three boys Joseph, Albert Edward (b.1901), George Herbert (b.1904), James William (b.1911, d.1911) and Hannah Elizabeth (b.1894), Edith (b.1896), Ellen Mary [Nellie] (b.1898), Bertha (b.1900), Frances [Fanny] (b.1905), Minnie (b.1907), Ena (1908), Amanda (b.1909, d.1911) and Mary Ann (b.1910) In the 1881 census of Stainforth, Amanda was aged 10 and living with her parents Robert and Mary at East Bank, Stainforth in Thorne, Yorkshire, and list four other children John Thomas (aged 9), Harry (aged 7), George (aged 4), Mary Ann (aged 1). After her husband George Albert death in 1912, she had to bring the younger children up on her own. Towards the end of her life Amanda moved to Long Lane, West Butterwick to live with one of her daughters Frances [Fanny] Tomes who was married to a Farm Labourer named Bernard Randeson.
My Grandfather on my father's side was Thomas Molyneux who was born in St. Helens to Thomas Molyneux (a coal miner). My grandfather moved to Doncaster when Pilkington Glass open a new works. I know very little about my grandfather family.
