CADCourse (USA) A great source of TurboCAD Training Programmes, I have several of them and they make learning Turbocad a lot easier.
   
Avanquest A good source for TurboCAD in Europe.
   
Textual Creations NEW Don Cheke has a lot of very good TurboCAD Tutorials, hints & tips and a
lot of examples of what can be produced using TurboCAD.
I have several of Don's Tutorials which are very detailed and easy to follow.

Model Boats Magazine I have this magazine regularly, several of my models are from its plans - hulls collection.
   
Marine Modelling Another of my regular magazines, also has a large selection of plans etc.
   
Offshore Support Journal The OSJ is a great magazine, it specializes in Offshore Oil related vessels, available on subscription.
   
Sea Breezes The magazine for information on ships and the sea.

a2stainless Stigs Stainless Fasteners - Is based in the UK and a great source of Stainless Steel Fasteners of all sorts, including some of the more unusual thread types.
   
4D Modelshop An excellent model shop in London, near the Tower of London.
Stocking a very large selection of material and tools.
Also do custom etching and dry transfer lettering.
   
Beesleys Tools Stocking a wide range of tools, including 'Proxxon' & 'Dremel'. (I get my Proxxon equipment from them).
   
East Coast Fibreglass Supplies A very good source of anything for GRP work.
   
Everything Airbrush My main source for all my airbrush equipment & materials.
   
Folkestone Engineering A VERY good source of engineering metals and fasteners, with a mail order catalogue available. A lot of my metal comes from them.
   
Greenwood Tools A use their indexible tip tools on my lathe.
   
Lazertran Manufacturers of 'Slide On Transfer material that can be printed with an Inkjet printer, to enable DIY Decal production.
   
Peter Child Woodturning A specialist Woodturning shop, with a VERY GOOD mail order catalogue.

Although the site is in German, the pictures give a lot of information.

Model Ship Builder A Canadian based site featuring the work of several Model Makers.
   
Model Marina A model making web site with a lot of useful information, links etc, including building a 'Wyeforce'.
   
Model Ship World A good site with lots of sections and includes a forum.
   
Stefaan Joris Stefaan is a friend and fellow IOS member, his site shows a wide range of vessels.
   
Trawler Photos A site of not just trawlers but general commercial fishing vessels, and includes a section on Scale Models.

Anglia Model Centre A very good all round shop with lots of boat fittings etc. (Gorleston Norfolk)
   
Filla-Glu They make and sell, a very wide range of superglues, I have used several of their range with very good results.
   
Iansboats A very good shop dealing mainly in equipment for the 'Fast' boats. (Barkingside Essex)
   
Model Shop Directory Biased towards Railway Modelling,
but still a very useful list.
   
Peterhead Puffers A fairly new model shop in Peterhead, Scotland, with a growing range of model making material & kits.
   
Station Road Baseboards Although selling products for model railway baseboards, they stock a good range of general materials and tools etc, including clear plastic sheeting which I am using

A friend of mine is a member of this club (Hans-Jurgen Mottschell).
   
SMC Nautilus Guetersloh Germany Another friend of mine is a member of this German Club. An English version of the site should be running during 2005.
   
North Cheshire Marine Fine Scale Association A group of very dedicated model makers, check out the Slipway Page.
   
South Manchester M.B.C. A very friendly bunch of model makers, the club exhibits at a number of model shows.

Caister Voluntary Lifeboat Service An independent Lifeboat Station with both Inshore & offshore boats, it is NOT part of the national lifeboat service (RNLI) in the UK.
   
Falkirk Wheel The only rotating Boat Lift in the World, I have seen it and it is definitely worth visiting.
   
FindTransport A web site with links to many types of transport including model boats.
   
International OSV Society I am a member of this Society, which is a group of model makers, specializing in vessels linked with the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry.
   
Liverpool Maritime Museum Has a collection of Ship Models.
   
Maritime History Detroit Maritime History Society of Detroit, which has a model builders section.
   
MPBA Model Power Boat Association, the main organizing body for UK model power boating.
   
The Tallship (at Glasgow) The 'Glenlee', is the only Clydebuilt windjammer still afloat in the UK. I have been aboard and can recommend a visit.

Jecobin Plans Highly detailed plans of Merchant Ships, Submarines & Warships
   
'Marine Modelling International' Magazine They have a very large range of plans

Taubman Plans Service Based in the USA, they have possibly the largest collection of model boat plans in the world
   
Towboat Joe Joe has a very large collection of Towboat plans and model building information
   
VTH VTH is based in Germany and publish a wide range of model making magazines, it has an extensive range of plans of model boats. The site is in German, but go to (all in left hand column): Shop - Modellbau - Bauplane - Schiffsmodelle, this takes you to the plans, and Schlepper are Tugs.

Fireboat Fever Burkhard Reeg is building a site which is on fireboats from around the world.
   
44ft Motor Lifeboats A great site to gather stacks of information on the WAVENEY Lifeboats and their US COASTGUARD versions
   
Ocean Tug and Barge Based in the U.S.A. They design and build various craft and I hope to build one of their more unusual vessels in the future.
   
Ships of the Mersey A very good picture site covering the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal (in the UK).
   
Tug Spotting Web Site Based in the Netherlands.
   
Towboat Information:  
   
Towboat Joe Joe Brown is a Towboat Modeler with a very comprehensive site, full of information of the full size vessels and models. He also produces a large number of plans. My 'George F. Wills' Towboat is based on one of Joe's, and I have several more of his plans 'in stock'!.
   
Old River Bill A very large site devoted to all aspects of TOWBOATS by Bill Zumwalt. If you can not find information or a link about Towboats here it probably does not exist.
   
Paddlewheels & Props John L. Fryant, has a range of plans available.
   
Taubman Plans Service Based in the USA, they have a large range of plans including Towboats.
