Work in Progress

After a number of years away from model boat building (work kept getting in the way) I started again in 1992 with PLAUDIT being the first boat finished and Flat Holm being the latest.

I build in various scales which are not always at the same scale as the drawings, but as it is now possible to have drawings enlarged or reduced at some of the high street copy shops at a reasonable cost, I will build at a scale to suite the purpose I intend to use the boat for, or to enable certain functions to be included, as with GRAMPIAN PRIDE which required a scale of 1:42 to allow a working tunnel thruster to be fitted in the stern.

Work in Progress

This section has several boats in various stages of building and includes progress photographs. I tend to build more than one boat at a time as I find by being able to switch from project to project I do not get bored with the same thing and if I have a problem that needs time to sort out I can get on with other jobs on another model.

Also it can be more economical on material as I can have say a big session of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) working , then clear up.
