| Plan: | With Kit | ||
| Model Length: | 840mm (33in) | ||
| Build Time: | 340 hours | ||
| Progress: | Finished in 2000 but in use in 1999 | ||
| Propulsion: | Twin propellers with fixed kort nozzles | ||
| Electrics: | Twin motors using Model Slipway belt drive gear box's, single Electronize speed controller and rudder servo activated motor reversing switches | ||
| Notes: | Some alterations made to kit layout
including the hull radiators added. I also intend to add the winches (when I
have time). Although 'Wyeforce' is twin screw, I am only using a 2 function radio control unit, controlling power to both motors together and steering. I have added a set of micro switches between the speed control (Electronize 43HX) and the motors. When full rudder is applied the switches change the circuit to one of the motors, the motor then turns in the opposite direction (one ahead and one astern) so causing the boat to turn on the spot. When the rudder is moved away from "full over" the switching reverts to normal. See the information and pictures on my Hints & Tips page As the kit depicts the vessel as first built (as delivered) it does not have several additional items that where installed by the owners, these include changes to wheelhouse interior layout and deck winches. I have also modified the tow post arrangement to enable it to be used for proper towing, a full description and a downloadable PDF file is on the Tow Post Page There has been reviews written in both 'Marine Modelling' and 'Model Boats' magazine with a "Super Detailing" Article in May 1996 'Marine Modelling'. |
