BY CAR: From All Main Routes: Exit M6 at J29 (s/p M65 Burnley, Blackburn, Preston Sth), and at motorway roundabout take 3rd exit (s/p M65 Burnley, Blackburn) onto the M65. Exit M65 at junction 4 (s/p Ewood Park), and follow signs to `Blackburn A666' onto the A666 Bolton Road. (*)Follow this road for about a mile, passing `The Fernhurst' pub on the LHS. The ground is down the sidestreets on the RHS. From South and North, via pubs and takeaways on the Livesey Branch Road: Exit M6 at J29 (s/p M65 Burnley, Blackburn, Preston Sth), and at motorway roundabout take 3rd exit (s/p M65 Burnley, Blackburn) onto the M65. Exit M65 at junction 3 (s/p A674 Blackburn W). Take first exit at roundabout (s/p Blackburn A674) onto the A674. (*)After 0.7 miles, turn right at T-junction/lights. After 0.8 miles turn right at mini-roundabout by the `Fieldens Arms' (s/p Darwen A6062) into Livesey Branch Road. Follow this road for 2.5 miles, passing `The Brown Cow' and `The White Bull' pubs to the `Ewood Triangle'. Go round the one-way system, following signs to Bolton, onto the A666 Bolton Road. Ground is down sidestreets on the LHS. From East (M61): Exit M61 at junction 8 onto the A674. Follow signs to `Blackburn A674' through open countryside to roundabout by the Houghton Arms. Here, go straight on (s/p Blackburn A674) onto the A674. Then as From South and North(M6-M65)(*). From Bolton (A666): Continue on A666 through town of Darwen, passing the `Golden Cup' pub on LHS. Pass under M65 motorway, then as From East (M65). FROM RAILWAY STATION (Blackburn): 1.6 miles. By taxi: £2.20-£2.50. By bus: The bus station is right outside the railway station, and plenty of buses travel down Bolton Road on their way to Darwen. The best bets are: From Stand M - Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 346 and 603; From Stand N - Nos. 19, 20, 21, W1, X25 and X26; and From Stand O - Nos. 223, 67, 30, 237, 535 and 823.By foot: Turn left out of the station, and left again down Bridge Street. The road bends round to the right to a T-junction. Here, turn left. Cross the road, go under bridge and take right fork (s/p Bolton A666). Walk for 1.0 miles to the `Ewood Triangle' - turn left for `The Fernhurst' and the ground, right for the `Fox and Hounds' and McDonalds. Last Midweek Trains: Call (0345) 484 950. FROM RAILWAY STATION (Mill Hill): This station, about 0.5 miles from Ewood Park, is one stop from Blackburn Station on the local Preston line. By foot: Turn left out of station onto New Chapel Street. Walk a couple of hundred yards, past a row of shops, then turn left into New Wellington Street. This bends right into Moorgate Street. At the end of the street turn left onto Livesey Branch Road, and the `Ewood Triangle' is a five minute walk ahead. BY BUS: See above. Street parking is very limited. However, there are a number of options: a) `The Fernhurst' pub has a matchday car park for around 60-70 cars (£3.50). b) The `Youth Aid' car park (£3.50) off Albion Road (one side of the Ewood Triangle). c) Albion Mill car park on Albion Street (£2.50), see map. d) Industrial Total Capacity: 31,367. For away fans: 5,000. Disabled Facilities: Up to 280 disabled spaces available in total to wheelchair users and their helpers. Disabled Toilets: 16 purpose-built ground level toilets. For the Blind: In-ground radio station, broadcasting match commentary, team news, player interviews etc. The visually handicapped can access this by placing radio receivers on their heads, enabling them to sit where they wish inside the stadium. Please book through John Aitken on (01254) 725 573. Induction loop hearing aid system installed at the main Ticket Office window. Programme: £2.00. Visitors' Toilets: The facilities are excellent. Male: So this is how the other half lives! Music while you pee! Female: `Much better than at Barnsley, not as good as Bolton' was the assessment of one well-travelled Wimbledon fan. Food and Drink: The burger (£2.10) was tasty but rather cold, while the hot dogs (£2) were `nice, tasty, but a bit dry'. Take a spoon for the meat-and-potato pies (£1.60), described as `hot, tasty and messy.' The coffee (£1) was good, but the tea (£1) had one fan rushing back to the beer counter for a pint! Rovers have their own "Blues" cafe bar, which provides meals and drinks.
Near the ground are: Fox and Hounds (1) Albion Road (on the Ewood Triangle) (01254) 671 497 Thwaites. Small football-crazy pub, with loads of memorabilia from Rovers' forays into Europe. Separate pool room. Sandwiches. Two TVs. Families welcome. Open: all day from 11.30. In addition, there are two small friendly pubs on Livesey Branch Road, a ten-minute walk from Ewood and handy for those walking from Mill Hill station: The Brown Cow is a traditional Whitbread pub with pool table and darts; The White Bull is a family-orientated Thwaites pub with pool table and TV. The landlord will only welcome small numbers of away fans. Both come highly recommended. Those approaching Blackburn on the A666 from Bolton pass The Britannia on Bolton Road, a small friendly Thwaites pub with pool and darts rooms.
