*When choosing Edexcel BTEC option units: Students need to recognise the difference between specialist option units (marked with an asterisk) and general option units. It is recommended that no more than two specialist option units are selected Students' choice of specialist option units (marked with an asterisk) will provide a context for the remaining more general option units. For example, students selecting Printmaking (Unit 13) for a Higher National Diploma in Fine Arts should develop their understanding of core and general option units within the context of printmaking. Similarly students selecting Sculpture (Unit 14) and Installation & Performance (Unit 20) should develop their understanding of core and general option units within the context of sculpture, installation and performance work. |
