Print Room

The print room at Northampton is one of the best in the country, if not the best. This is only one corner. Facilities are for any kind of printmaking; Etching, Aqautint, Silk Screen, Mono, Lino cuts, Woodcuts, Mezzotint, Mixed Media and Offset Litho, photographic and from limestone plates
This is an offset litho press
Some wonderful old ornate presses are in use such as this direct press dating from 1850, the gold eagle is a counter weight for for the head pressure arm. A roller press I have now used for etching and aquatint, another grand machine !!!!

My first work here to date.

A small aquatint just for induction into the system.

I copied the image from some work Rachael had done

It's early days with this etching looking down on market square, Toddington. Next step is aquatint. It's 570 x 320mm on zinc. Scratching the plate took about 14 hours.
19th November, I completed the aquatint and made 3 prints. I'm quite pleased with result
