THE CONSTITUTION OF
THE MODERN GAME CLUB

1. The Club shall be known as THE MODERN GAME CLUB.


2. The object of the Club shall be to encourage the breeding, showing and judging of Modern Game according to the standard and scale of points as laid down by the Club and ratified by the Poultry Club of Great Britain (PCGB).


3. An Annual General Meeting for the transaction of the business of the Club shall be held each year at a venue decided by the Officers of the Club.


4. The Management of the Club shall be the responsibility of a President, an Honorary Secretary/Treasurer (the Officers) and a Committee of five members.


5. The Officers & Committee shall retire annually at the AGM, but will be eligible for re-election by a ballot of the membership present at the AGM. The Quorum for the AGM shall be five members.


6. Any increase in the Annual Subscription shall be determined by simple majority of those present at the Annual General Meeting. (Currently £10.00 adults and £5.00 OAP's and under 16’s).


7. A member’s annual subscription shall commence from January 1st and end on December 31st of the same year. Any member that fails to pay their subscription by March 1st at the latest will be deemed to have resigned from the Club.


8. Members leaving the Club shall forfeit claim to any property belonging to the Club.


9. Only members that have paid their annual subscriptions shall be entitled to compete for Club specials, attend meetings, vote at the AGM, be eligible for selection to Judge at Club shows and take part in the privileges of membership of the Club.


10. Any alteration or addition to the Constitution of the Club shall be decided at an Annual General Meeting by a simple majority of those present.


11. Any member proposing an alteration to the Constitution shall give notice to the Secretary fourteen days before the date of the Annual General Meeting.


12. The Club recognises those shows where at least four classes of Modern Game are provided. Club Specials will be given in addition to ordinary prizes.


13. All birds exhibited at any Club show shall be the absolute property of those persons exhibiting them. No bird exhibited at a Club show shall be faked; artificially coloured; trimmed; or have been subjected to any other practice that in the opinion of the Officers is likely to bring the Club into disrepute.


14. It shall be the obligation of every member to bring any suspected breach of Rule 13. to the attention of the Officers & Committee of the Club. The Officers & Committee shall determine whether any breach has occurred. Any member found to have breached rule 13 shall be guilty of a dishonourable practice & will be expelled from the membership of the Club and shall forfeit all interest therein.


15. Only members who have not won a first prize at our Annual Club Show can compete in a Novice Class at our annual Show.


16. In the event that the Club shall be dissolved, as determined by the members at an Annual General Meeting by a simple majority, that all monies held by the Club and other assets of the Club shall become the property of the PCGB for the continuation of the objects of the Club in such a manner as the PCGB see as appropriate.


17. That any matter arising which is not covered by the Constitution shall be dealt with by the Officers and Committee, whose decision shall be final.

Note: Any further Life Memberships were abolished in 1986.
