 One of many designs we undertook for
Cowley Timberwork. The Structural Engineer for the
project as a whole was Buro Happold. Our role has been to
design the glulam timber rooflight dome.The roof consits of glulam ribs brought together at steel ring nodes as illustrated left. Moment continuity was provided by a couple between the single shearlock bolt and the structural Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) boarding. The stiffness of this composite joint was modelled for a computer buckling analysis using the design models developed in house for this project. |
