![]() A small job for one of our
neighbouring firms. This old, timber framed buildinghad
already been converted into office space but it had its
shortcomings. One was the low timber beam (pictured)
which cut through the room at eye level. Our job was to
raise it out of harm's way.Originally it had formed the eaves tie for the gable end frame. The building had been extended in the past and the gable frame has become a truss, supporting half of the roof. Our intention was to re-use the original oak beam but the contractor opted to replace this with a pair of new oak beams as pictured. New oak rafter legs were introduced and a top chord introduced at ceiling level. |
