Specialist
timber structures |

During my time at Parkman I was
involved in a number of specialist timber designs for
Cowley Timberwork. These included long span roofs for the
National Football academy, Sports Centers, Medical
centres, a sikh temple, an underground station and a guild hall. It also involved product development for proprietary connections (Shearlocks and hinge brackets) and prefabricated long span monocoque floor and roof panels. |

| Roads |  |
a | Berakas - Kebangsaan Link Road, Brunei. | I was RE for this link road associated with the National Sports Center development. I was also responsible for a number of access roads and remedial works to damage from land slides. | |
| Foundations and Geotechnics |  |

I was
responsible for one of the first uses of large diameter
bored piles in Brunei and have introduced the use of
reinforced soil into two practices. In Brunei I was involved in a number of slope stabilisation projects. Other responsibilities have included a settlement analysis for Seria Sewage works and assessment of the effects of two deep basements for third party clients. |

| Cycling Infrastructure |  |

the Cyclists Touring Club in North Hertfordshire I
played an active role assessing highway and cycling
schemes produced by the local authorities as well as
promoting cyclists' needs. I have been involved in "hands-on" cycle path construction work as a volunteer for Sustrans. |

| Draughting |  |
a | I pride myself in the quality of my draughting, both using traditional pen and ink and modern technology (2D and 3D). Examples are contained in the work picture gallery. | ||
| Computing |  |

I am
computer literate, and produced this website myself. I
have have experience with a wide variety of structural analysis
programs as well as spreadsheets, wordprocessors and

| Languages | While no linguist my travels have taken me to many countries. As a result I can order coffee in French, German, Spanish and Malay, and exchange greetings in seTswana. | ||||
