Since that time we created the world's biggest software library, Alchemist Software (formerly Alchemist PD), and the popular electronic magazine AlchNews. One of the highlights of our service was to gain the rights to GREMLIN GRAPHICS games for the Spectrum. This was followed up by many other titles, inlcuding what must surely be the most famous: MANIC MINER, JET SET WILLY, and hundreds of others. Our last aquisition is LERM SOFTWARE.
Nowadays we have diversified and now concentrate on AlchNews, emulators and this web site, whilst other subsiduaries of our organisation supply Spectrum software, and the magazine on cassette tape - still a popular storage medium for many! The World of Spectrum web site is trying to get all Spectrum titles to be freeware and has carried on where we left off. Mick Harrop has re-opened Alchemist PD on the web and is slowly building up the first web site consisting entirely of PD Software.
Other aspects of our group include an unrivalled help service. No matter what your problem is, we aim to solve it, or put you in touch with someone specialised if we cannot. We launched a sub user group for the STAR range of dot matrix printers - a common choice of Sinclair users - the group recieved the official recognition of Star Micronics.
We can assist in tape to disk transfers and duplication, having successfully created cover disk projects for other Sinclair magazines. And, our extensive and dedicated team have converted many 'snapshots' back to original BASIC and CODE files. We are also the only group to heavily support external disk drives for the Spectrum +3, turning it into a very powerful machine which can read and write to Amiga, PC and Disciple disks - IN BASIC!
Our latest and continuing role is to provide support for the Cambridge Z88 portable computer.
