The school was founded in Northampton in 1975, originating from the West Coast of Ireland. It is the oldest established school in Northampton, with over 300 pupils. The traditions and foundations of the school have been handed down through the generations, with over 100 years of music and dance teaching in the family.

The school is fully registered with the supreme body of Irish dancing "An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha" who stage the ultimate World Championships with competitors from all over England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and many parts of Europe competing for the most prestigious title of 'World Champion'

We have a strong commitment to making the environment in which we teach safe and secure, and as such we have a child protection policy. We do not have parents or visitors in class while teaching and can therefore make sure that we protect all those in our care.

We aim to encourage and support pupils at all levels to achieve their own personal potential and enjoy and uphold a lively and rewarding tradition. Irish Dancing is good fun, good exercise with exciting music! Pupils both past and present have achieved many successes, including major championships and dancing on the world stage!

There is a beginner's section in every class, however we believe that by not separating more experienced dancers new pupils are encouraged by them and feel part of the community from the start. The more experienced dancers are also encouraged by the enthusiasm that new pupils bring with them. All pupils dance together whatever their grade or experience, this is a proven formula and every child is treated equally.

Pupils are taught by professional and experienced teachers Rhona and Lynne. A partnership of proven success making this an exciting and thriving modern academy. We are continually evolving.

Other achievements and memorable moments are visits abroad, television appearances and numerous dance and folk festivals. There are lots of displays, which help to build confidence, self-esteem and contribute to the local community in fund raising events and generally showing off our talents!

We are also proud of our ‘extended’ family, pupils who are now parents themselves whose children are sharing the excitement and traditions of their forefathers…
