This is a charming Grade II listed fisherman's cottage at the foot of the famous 199 Steps, right in the heart of old Whitby, it has lots of character: old beams, winding staircases, great views of Whitby from all windows and a private courtyard with garden furniture. The cottage has full central heating and has been newly decorated and furnished to a high standard. It has three bedrooms sleeping 6 adults and a baby. A high-chair and cot are also provided.
On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen and dining area, open plan wooden stairs lead to the sitting room (which has views of the town, 199 steps, harbour and West Cliff) the main bathroom with bath, electric shower and toilet is also on this floor.
Bedrooms The double bedroom and bunk bedroom are on the second floor and a large twin room with en-suit shower, washbasin and loo on the third floor. The two main bedrooms have great views of the harbour and West Cliff
All the beds are provided with duvets and pillows. You may bring your own duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels, alternatively there is a linen hire service for bedding and towels. The linen and towels are good quality and co-ordinated but please bring cot bedding.
This cottage has a washing machine, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Tea towels are provided along with milk, tea and sugar for that welcome cup of tea when you arrive.
There is easy access to the old town and beach from the cottage (straight across the road) temporary parking is permitted outside the cottage for unloading and parking is available in the public car park in Church Street or in the Abbey Car Park (at the top of the 199 steps). Free Parking can also be arranged at the home of the Caretaker, this is about a ten minute walk away. From March parking will be available at the top of Henrietta Street.
