In 1971 a total of forty-four redundant CXA class sheep wagons were used as the basis for HE class low-sided wagons. These were the last four-wheel low-sided wagons built for the W.A.G.R.

The number series includes wagons converted from ex M.R.W.A. vehicles in 40XXX series and also 7434 which, at least in theory, was a wooden framed CXA. It is very likely that 7434 and another CXA had in fact swapped identities at some stage. The class was written off as follows:
