Class NF flat wagons, Class NFB bolster wagon and Class NFC cement wagons

 

The NF class was the standard post war flat wagon built on the 18'-0" underframe. A total of 56 were built In 1953 22871-22885 entered service followed by 22851-22870 in 1956. Further construction was by conversion from other classes as follows:

22801-22812 ex CXB (17695, 17403, 17543, 17404, 17633, 17556, 17599, 17576, 17513, 17498, 17445)

22751-3 ex NC, 17575, 17601/6, 17661, 17689 ex CXB, 21514 ex HC

1966

20621 ex BE

 

In 1956 a group of 9 wagons were converted to carry cement containers (22851/4/5, 22867/9, 22872/5/8, 22884) and reclassified NFC. In 1961 they were all converted back to NF standard. The final conversion was 22880 which in 1974 became a bolster wagon coded NFB. It was unique and was finally written off in 1986. The class was written off as follows:

Number 22882 was presumably an accident victim but most of the rest survived until the end of general goods traffic on the W.A.G.R.
