Class RCJ steel bodied bogie open wagons

With the end of wagon load traffic on the W.A.G.R. in 1986 most of the bogie vans became redundant. The chassis (which were all of the same type) still had life in them and a program of converting these vans to steel bodied open wagons was started. The conversion programme finished in June 1988. The conversions were as listed below: |

These wagons lasted a surprisingly short time for WAGR rolling stock and by the early nineties the end was near. I don't have complete disposal details. Such as I have are listed in the table below.
