In 1967 /8 a total of twelve old coach chassis from AD and AF class coaches were shortened to 26'-6" long and used to construct twelve new QJH class container flats. They re-appeared as 14551-6 (in 1967) and 14557-14562 (in 1968). They did not last long as 14556 and 14562 were written off in 1976 and were followed by the rest of the class in 1979.
