I originally joined the LibDems because of their commitment to 'green' policies; that was over ten years ago before the politics of the environment were fashionable. In councils across the country, we are able to put those principles into practice. Locally, protection of the environment is at the heart of our thinking. Sustainability should figure in all of the Council's decisions. This includes a commitment to zero waste and running a carbon neutral council. We need also to tackle the high levels of pollution urgently by increasing public transport use but also the best form of transport - by foot or by bicycle!
