Thousands of protestors from across europe marched to the conference centre where the climate negotiations were taking place. The Bath FoE banner is carried along (by Terry Coulson and Barry Maunder) with those of other environmental groups from across europe. March to the Dyke site
At the conference center, about 6000 people work together to build a 400m-long dyke, out of sandbags. First, the sandbags must be filled from piles at one side of the road. Jim Hardman (pictured) is a builder from Whiteway, Bath, so he's used to this kind of thing! Jim filling sandbags
After filling the sandbags, they are passed in a human-chain across to the other side of the road. Terry passing sandbags
Finally, the sandbags are piled up to create the dyke. Placing bags on the dyke
Here, the dyke passes directly in fron of the main entrance to the conference centre. Dyke in front of the Conference Centre
Members of Bath FoE relax after the dyke is completed. (Jim Hardman, Barry Maunder, June Chancellor, David Beasley, Terry Coulson). Bath FoE group with banner
