All the figure packs I bought (of armoured as well as unarmoured Moros) were cleanly cast and had good heads. On closer inspection I would now say that the unarmoured Moros are only slightly better than the armoured ones. I found a bag of unarmoured Moros broke down as follows: There are two poses of figures with rifles. One is bare chested in trousers and is firing a trapdoor Springfield and the other is in a shirt and trousers kneeling at the ready with a Krag rifle. Both figures are nicely proportioned and detailed (I think the standing figure has a Mills belt under his waist sash) and is about the best in the pack. Then there are three officers, all the same figure just with head variants. The officer has a tunic or jacket worn partially open over a shirt, and trousers. He also has what looks to me like a sash running diagonally from shoulder to waist and carries a cane in one hand. There are two different poses of spearmen, both with jacket or tunic and trousers. One of the jacket types has a row of horizontal fasteners down the front (which I thought gave it a sort of chinese look) and the other is plain. The spearmen have their spears at different angles, one at 45 degrees and the other more or less level. There are two different poses of swordsmen. One is barechested and is wearing a loincloth which looks similar to an Indian dhoti. He has a very muscular torso and arms and suffers a little from the Old Glory "short arm syndrome" (reported by Ed Allen). He has a sword which is quite plain and poorly detailed but which has a sort of panga or parang shape. The other sword armed figure is striking over arm with a slightly smaller parang. He is in a shirt and trousers. I found that there were about 3 figures in the pack of each pose, and my pack had 31 figures. All the figures have two head variants, one turban with a sort of "peak" at the front, and the other with an end hanging down slightly at one side. Many of the figures should have shields, which are supplied and are the same as those in the armoured Moros pack. Overall, out of 10 I would rate the armoured Moros at 5.5 and the unarmoured Moros at 6. |
