No Radio Club untill further notice!

M0FPS

The Junior Radio club is a new club where young people in the area from the age of 10 to 18 can come along and enjoy the world of radio telecommunications. The club often run the Ofcom license courses for all ages to take. The club is open to all young people in the area not just Scouts. Adult run courses can be done run too, but would normally be undertaking with Pontefract Amateur radio club based at Carlton Community Centre. However if the Saturday Junior Club is better for you please nip in and have a chat with Reg or Chris I'm sure we can accommodate and comply with Scout Regulations. (CRB's)

SCOUT & GUIDE LEADERS: Why not visit the club, we can arrange visits to the Junior Club most Saturday afternoons/mornings, where your Scouts/Guides will be given an overview of the hobby, then get the chance to have a go themselves. If they wish to take it further they can, just nip down on Saturdays and join. Being a Scout leader I would say it's suitable for young people aged 8+, no younger, but it's up to you. We charge only £1.00 per head to cover cost etc. Pparents are welcome too on a private booking (might as well, seeing as they'll be dropping them off, no charge for parents).

Interested, talk to John Fisher ADC Activities e-mail 1stpontefractscouts@tiscali.co.uk

The club is also looking for Scout leaders who would like to help out at the club, even take their own license. The club is under the strict supervision of 1st Pontefract Scout Centre to ensure we maintain high standards for young people.
