2008 sees a return to Le Chateau d'Ebblinghem, North France for five days, four nights of international fun. The price includes luxury coach travel to and from a local pick up point, full board, bunked accommodation all with en suite, a day trip to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower hopefully have enough time to go up it too, a local world war two site to see, and the popular visit to Aqualud a water theme park. Plus many more activities taking place at the Chateau, such as football, volley ball, le boule etc. Free time can be spent in the games room or playing table tennis or basketball. All scouts will be taught some basic French phrases and be expected to speak some French during their stay, even if it's just the basic "Please and thank you". Site staff are a mixture of French and English.

What you must do now:
1. Ensure your Scout has a valid passport for up to six months after our return
2. You will need a E111 card, you can get an application form from the post office
3. We need a copy of both the Passport and E111 for our files by April. We will only need the originals on the day of departure.
4. A recent photograph of your Scout in April
5. If your child has any medical conditions we now need to know, we may need a doctors note to allow your Scout to go on this trip to France

NOTE: All above payments are Non-returnable, payments must be made on time, or you run the risk of your Scout loosing their place on this trip and all money paid to that date. All payments must be made on time by cheque made payable to 1st Pontefract Scouts. Either post it to the above address or nip in on Wednesdays with your payment. I will not be sending you a reminder for the above payments, it's up to you to keep track of payments.

From you to us:

  • Photocopy of your Scouts passport by the end of April
  • Photocopy of your Scouts E111 by the end of April
  • A recent photo of your Scout by the end of April

This international visit is only open to Cubs aged 9+ on day of departure, Scouts and Explorers. Your Scout will need a ten year passport that must be valid for up to 6 months after our return, plus an E111 card.

For those new to foreign camps here's how it works:

You will also receive the Permission to camp form that you must fill in and return for the event. The confirmation letter will also let you know what paperwork we require from you.

Nearer the time a parents meeting will take place outlining the expedition plans, pick up times, kit list and a check will be done of all documentation etc.

Each group will be responsible for their own fund raising events to help reduce the total cost of this expedition.

LATE BOOKINGS:

If your Scout would like to attend this expedition please get in touch, there is always a slight chanceat this late stage we can fit them in, however we can not promise you but be assured we will try not to dissapoint. If you are sucessfull in gettting a late booking, all payments that should have been made to that date of you inquiry must be made within 7 days of confirmation.
